Current Missionary Outreaches
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
We are writing to inform you that our Lord Jesus Christ has graciously
opened a new door for us to obey His Command "go ye into all the world and
preach the Gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15), for His Glory.
Recently, a pastor from Tanzania, East Africa, visited us and invited us
to preach four Gospel crusades in his country, and one in the neighboring nation
of Kenya. The visit came after the host of our scheduled October itineration in
India had unexpectedly emailed us to inform us that he was unable to organize
our return preaching visit to his country. As we sought the Lord, concerning His
Will and direction, another unexpected email came from a Bible-teacher friend of
ours requesting that I meet the abovementioned pastor. After ascertaining, in
prayer, that the Lord had allowed the preaching door in India to close for the
present, in order for the preaching door in East Africa to open, we accepted the
invitation to preach the crusades.
From October 5, through the November 8, 2009, we will be preaching three
open air crusades that will each last seven days and one indoor crusade which
will last three days in Tanzania (one in the 5 million-inhabitant strong, 70%
Muslim, capital city of Dar Es Salaam; two in Mbeya; one 3-day indoor meeting in
Tunduma), and one outdoor crusade that will last seven days in Kitui,
Kenya.
Each day's meeting will be comprised of two 90-minute Bible teaching
and preaching seminars each morning and one two-hour Gospel preaching service
each evening. The total estimated cost of the five crusades is approximately
$25,000 (covering, for the 31 days of both morning and evening preaching and
teaching meetings, the cost of: renting speakers to daily broadcast the Gospel
as far as possible throughout the cities; renting a platform to daily seat the
delegation of 30+ pastors hosting the crusades; paying for electricity to daily
power the large outdoor areas reserved by the government for the crusades;
advertising via posters, Christian newspaper and radio, and television;
transportation to and from the crusades across Tanzania and in Kenya).
Though we have been privileged to preach in Toronto, Canada (1996, 1999),
Ghana and Nigeria, West Africa (2002), the Bahamas (2003), Germany, Poland,
Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria, Western Europe (2005), and Kerala, India
(2006), we are especially looking forward to the abovementioned five crusades
for the following reasons:
1. The four crusades (24 evening preaching services, 30 - 36 morning
seminar meetings) that will be conducted in three Tanzanian cities, afford our
Heavenly Father the opportunity to reach much of an entire nation with Christ's
Gospel.
2. The 7-day crusade amidst the 5 million inhabitants of Dar Es Salaam,
Tanzania, affords our Heavenly Father the opportunity to both reach thousands
nightly in the evangelistic services with the Gospel of Christ, and hundreds
during the daytime seminars with important doctrinal Truths and Biblical
evangelism training (which the pastors and those in attendance can take back to
their churches, fellowships, cities, and homes, to preach, teach, and put into
practice).
3. The crusade in Dar Es Salaam (%70 Muslim population or 3.5 million
Muslim inhabitants), affords our Heavenly Father an eternally important
opportunity to reach potentially thousands of Muslims with the Gospel.
Additionally, because our host pastor informed me that the Muslims often attend
the crusades to seek healing for sickness, we will be fasting and praying for
our Lord to use us to "lay hands on the sick" so that they "recover" (Mark
16:18-20), experience the Power of our Lord Jesus Christ, realize that He is the
risen Son of God, repent, put faith in Him, and commit to Biblically following
Him.
4. As our host pastor informed me that there exists little to no public
personal evangelism and open air preaching in Tanzania (besides large organized
open air crusades, such as those that we are scheduled to preach), the daytime
seminars afford our Heavenly Father the opportunity to introduce Biblical
person-to-person witnessing, and Biblical open air campus and street preaching,
to an entire nation.
5. As our host pastor informed me that in Tanzania, Kenya, and throughout
the eastern portion of Africa, many people have been afflicted with AIDS, this
affords our Heavenly Father the opportunity to manifest His Healing Power, in
the Name of His Son and our Savior Jesus Christ, in delivering those diagnosed
with AIDS from both sickness and sin, that they might Biblically repent,
surrender completely to Christ, and serve Him, in Biblical holiness.
Truly, we consider these crusades to be a Biblical
"Once-in-a-Lifetime"-type of Gospel preaching opportunity, one in which,
potentially, thousands of souls can be saved from eternal damnation, and granted
eternal life, through the Gospel of Christ. However, because the monetary cost
for making this opportunity a reality is high ($25,000 before our departure in
late September), we request your financial partnership in this soul-rescuing
endeavor.
Addressing the Philippian church concerning their giving of financial
donations to assist him in his Missionary Gospel preaching, Paul the Apostle
declared "For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not
because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account"
(Philippians 4:16-17). If, like the Philippian Christians, you desire to give
financially to help bring forth Biblical fruit, unto our Lord Jesus Christ, we
